Last week at a masterclass at the Brisbane Writers Festival, Stephen Amsterdam introduced us to this story by English writer James Lasdun. What a joy. It’s eloquent, evocative, economical. Not a word out of place, not a word too many. So much to enjoy, admire and learn from.
