Hello, I’m Lu Sexton.

I’m a writing coach and editor specialising in literary fiction. I’ve been working with writers like you since 2009 and I love it.

I developed my coaching method through years of working as an editor with new writers. I started offering manuscript appraisals in a workshop setting (rather than as a written report), which the writers really loved, and so did I. So it grew from there.

I am:

Friendly: I know that sending work to an editor or coach can be a bit daunting, but I promise I’m not going to rap you over the knuckles with the grammar stick or impose my tastes on your work. I’m here to help, not to ‘correct’.

Caring: Just like you, I care deeply about your book. I want your readers to have the best experience they can. I also care about your development as a writer. If you’re a rookie, I’ll gently guide you; if you are experienced, I’ll give you challenges to extend yourself and hone your craft.

Accredited: I am an Accredited Editor with the Institute of Professional Editors accreditation scheme, Australia’s only professional accreditation standard for editors.
