coaching regular clients and appraising a first draft
Writing a novel is a lonely occupation. Your friends and loved ones can cheer you on from the sidelines, but they don’t really know what you’re going through.

When you started your novel, you were full of ideas and enthusiasm. You had a story you were burning to tell. You’re still burning to tell that story, but the writing process is harder than you thought. Self-doubt is creeping in. Can I really do this?

The answer is yes!

With my support you can write a novel you are proud of.

Lu Sexton

Hello, I’m Lu Sexton. I’ve been working with writers like you since 2009 and I love it. My mission is to help you bring out the best in your writing and get you one step closer to being published.

I developed my coaching method through years of working as an editor with new writers. I started offering manuscript appraisals in a workshop setting rather than as a written report, which the writers really loved, and so did I. So it grew from there.

If you’re ready for some friendly, professional support with your novel, or you’re just curious about coaching and whether it’s the right thing for you, the first step is for us to have a chat. This is so I can learn a bit about you, your book, and your publishing hopes and dreams, and you can get to know me a bit too.

From there, if you feel like I’m the right coach for you, we’ll make a plan to start working together. I usually recommend starting with a dip your toe appraisal workshop.

Why not schedule a phone call right now?

Or if you are feeling shy, you can start by dropping me a line to tell me about you and your novel and we can book in the call from there.
